Alternator fusible link problem

2.0 V6?
140,000
Van died after running, wouldn't start or turn over after that. Found the 120 amp alternator fusible link was blown and replaced it but blew again upon reconnecting the battery. Had alternator tested and it was fine. Searched for bare or open wiring but found nothing. Heeeeeelp please

You have a very serious short circuit that should be pretty obvious in one of the major power feeds. To blow a 100A fuse, you have to have a battery cable shorted directly to ground.

Shorted directly to ground, meaning an exposed wire touching metal correct?

Exposed, pinched, bolted to the wrong place, etc. A large power supply is going directly to ground somewhere.
First try disconnecting the wire from the alternator itself to eliminate that.

FOUND THE PROBLEM. The positive cable for the battery was frayed almost in half. Had to remove half a roll of elec tape to discover it though. Always the little things smh. $9 fixed the problem. Thanks for the hints! I'll be back sometime with another problem I'm sure lol. Thanks Hammer! Keep up the good work!
