Battery Good or Bad?

I have a mitsubishi mirage 2001 and lately I have been stuck several times where the car would not start, seemed like the battery or starter from the way it acted, ...I took it too my local Sears Auto center because I originally bought the battery there 1 year ago and they include free battery & Alt. testing! They told me the battery had to be charged up to even be tested! although I just started the car and drove there? after charging for it for 11 minutes they now inform me the altenator is not putting out enough voltage and that is my problem ...it's running down the battery. I replace the altenator with a rebuilt from a local parts store and that same day I get stuck! It will not start I jump it but now the battery is very weak ...it can't even sustain interior cabin lights! I charge the battery back to 100% assuming the new altenator is faulty and thats why it's weakening! but when Sears tests it this time ...the BATTERY is BAD! and needs to be replaced. My question is I just charged this battery! ...it's starting like a tiger! is it possible it can still be bad? ...even they could not explain this to my satisfaction! ...I am wondering if I might have been the victim of some con just to sell a battery!

You're going to have to get your battery and charging system tested someplace other than sears. They are pretty clueless. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I'm well aware that sears is highly questionable, but could they actually have their test equipment set to read it's a bad battery ...when it's a good battery? I stood right there and watch them test it!

Yes, they could. All they have to do is dial in a higher CCA than the battery actually was.

Yes, the motivation is to not replace your battery.
