Brake Lights Sign In

01 Chrysler Concord: No brake lights. The only break light that I have, is one halve of the "third light" which is the one that shows through the rear window. I pulled the tail light assembly and looked at the lamps, and they appear to be ok. I have turn signals and tail lights, but no brake lights. Can anyone help with this issue. Thanks in advance.

Re: Brake Lights Sign In

With you saying that the “third” brake light is working that tells us that the brake light switch and wiring to the rear of the car is ok. That leaves the wiring from the slice connection to the rear sockets, the sockets themselves or the bulbs; where the issue will be found.
The splice connection is where the white/tan wire for the brake lights split, one wire going to the third light socket assembly and the other to the rear tail lights. You’ll likely find this splice on/in the left side rear wiring harness, in the trunk. I don’t have any graphics showing its exact location.
I would start at the tail light assemblies, with a test light, checking for power on the white/tan wire. Moving forwards, following the white/tan wire up to the splice or until you find power on the white/tan wire.
Like I suggested, check for power at the tail light socket first; even thou a bulb looks ok, it still may be at fault.

Re: Brake Lights Sign In

Dan, Thank you for your suggestion about the bulbs. There were THREE bad bulbs. Issue solved. Thanks
