Hi all,

i have a brake light out...i've tracked the problem to a worn/flat contact in the bulb socket that is not making contact with the bulb. Each socket has 2 contacts. The bulb is a combination parking/brake light (dual filament) that should light up whenever the headlight/parking light switch is on... and should light up even brighter when the brake pedal is pressed. right now neither is working. not sure how long its been light that....about a month ago another driver made me aware of this. I've tried junk yards to find a replacement socket with no luck. before i go to the dealer i thought i would ask....

my Q:
is it possible to fix the contact in the socket somehow? can i temporarily stick a piece of metal/aluminum in there (carefully) making sure it only makes contact with the side that is worn?

If the socket is bad it will have to be replaced. It should be readily available. The dealer should have it if you can't find it aftermarket.
