Can't move out of drive

I have a 99 Lincoln towncar I had my light control module to go out & also it want let me move it out of drive. I finally got the light control module but I still can't get it to move out of drive I do notice that my brake light don't work so could someone please help me figure out what I should do next someone had said that it could be the brake light wires that is stopping it from moving If anyone could please help me figure it out.

Just replied at General Discussions. The problem is usually that the shift is stuck in Park when brake switch fails. Heck the lights don't work so just jump it to make brake lights come on and if it shifts then the switch or broken wiring to it is the problem. That switch is what powers the soloniod to unlock the shifter. Never had it break any other way than at the switch, T
