Chevy Silverado tail light issues

I have a 1995 Chevy Silverado Z71, I am having problems with my tail lights where when my headlights are on and I hit the breaks the driver side tail light completely turns off, if I use the left blinker it blinks very fast up till I hit the breaks. When my headlights are off they still don't work properly but legal enough, the left blinker blinks in between fast and slow and when I use the brakes the left side works but very dim, the wiring is all original never tampered with, all I did was put aftermarket tail light covers on it which shouldn't affect anything. The problem usually comes and goes but this last time it lasted for 2 months and now everything works perfect, the problem will be back and I'm afraid I'll run out of luck and a cop will finally notice it. Any help would be very appreciated.

easy things first- BULB's.......... the 3057/1157 are dual element often one fails inside bulb and causes feed back thru other circuit. Don't us LED's. get 2 new bulbs and swap them in - time vs money. Ground at the tail light. Esp the L/S ... Check and double check any trailer connector and harness. If applicable. Let us know and we will give more ideas - I am sure its one of the simple mentioned solutions.

Sure sounds like a weak ground for that light. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Just looked at one. Ground wire/strap is bolted to frame near the end of it, driver's side appeared about 13mm hex. Catches a lot of junk there to go bad and all kinds of strange things will mess up lighting if not grounded well. No clue exactly how but will seek out trying to use power sent to other side, won't light up or most load takes all and others don't cooperate. Clean that connection up. Possible bust off and OK to me if you make a harmless small hole in just frame for another spot out of harm's way same as OE was. High bet on that being the problem, T

The poor ground contact can be at the socket also.

Absolutely. All grounds matter. If exposed like the strap/wire now at age it's been weathered a bit - any climate. I think bulb sockets are a bit more protected on back side of the removable lens, T
