My neighbor(a very good "shade tree" just purchased and installed a 350 Chevy crate engine in his 1984 Chevy pickup. He has a real challenge--when he connects the wire from alternator that goes to the junction box on the firewall the inline fuse(at the firewall) blows every time. He has had the alternator checked and has gone back searching for a break in wires throughout and has not found anything. It blows even if he gets fire directly from the battery and bypasses the alternator. I apologize if my description is lacking, but he's the mechanic and I'm the one with internet access.

OK--more information. The truck runs if he bypasses the alternator, bit blows the inline fuse if he connects to the box on the firewall. HELP
