Electrical Problems & More

2003 Ford Explorer 4.0L - Engine size. 154000 miles The following are problems that I am having with my vehicle: 1.- All 4 windows won't go down - They quit working all at the same time. We had a little problem at times with the driver side back window, but not enough to worry about. We had a mechanic look at the fuses and took the door apart. He couldn't figure it out, so my husband checked all the fuses again and took the window control in the drivers' door to work to check to see if there was any power. It is getting power. The power door locks work OK. 2. - The interior lights one night last summer wouldn't go off. So we took all of the light bulbs out. 3. - The gas gauge doesn't reflect the right amount after filling the tank. The light sometimes stays on even after filling it. 4. - Last September, we drove from Ohio to Tennessee for vacation and was having problems with the transmission. We didn't drive the car once we got up in the mountains. We rode with friends. We had the transmission worked on when we got back home. That was a major overhaul and cost $2,000. 5. - A few summers ago, the a/c quit working on a trip to Chicago. Fixed the A/C and is working OK at this time. 6. - The ABS light has been on for over 5 years. On another trip 3 years ago , the brakes went completely out and had to replace all of the brakes and the light is still on. 7. - The power seat for the driver quit working about 1 1/2 yrs. ago. It works to go forward and back, but not the other adjustment. 8. - The idler pulley is making a noise. 9. - The radiator was overheating and changed the thermostat. We have tried to put an additive in the water to stop the leak, so it won't overheat. Now after a year, it is doing it again. 10. - The cruise control is getting hard to set at times. If we turn it off and on (maybe) several times, we can get it to set. 11. - Their is a rust spot on my roof in the area of where you might have a sunroof. The spot is getting worse every year. 12. - Repaired all 4 wheel bearings. Started with the front bearings humming and then we had to do the back. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

If you would like to ask a question, limit one problem per question. No one is going to go through that laundry list and then try to follow subsequent posts. I am going to lock this post now so you can start a new one with one problem ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.
