FUSES KEEP BLOWING!!!! :'(

Okay, I need a bit of help. I have a 2006 ford focus automatic with a 2.0L engine. On Friday the battery light came on for a short period, which it has a few times, but it always turns off again. Shortly after that all of my gauges shut off, so I turned off everything that used power (headlights, stereo, air conditioning) and then after a few all the gauges came back on. About 5 miles later the same thing happened and then the car shut off. 15 minutes later it let me start it up again and I drove the rest of the way home (1 mile). I replaced the battery on upon recommendation, and it made 1 short trip (4miles round trip) no problems, and then when a 2nd trip was made (same 4 miles) the gauges shut off again and the car made it the rest of the way home. I was then told to replace the alternator. So, after doing that and having everything installed it started to blow the engine management fuse. All the wiring is right, and there are no melted connections. Can you help me with any idea as to what would cause this to happen?
