Flashers/Signals don't work Sign In

93 Civic: left signal was out for awhile, i mostly make right turns, went to change bulb and now both signals don't work. the bulb & socket are fine, everything turns on when headlights are up, hazards work, changed all neccessary fuses including flasher = still don't work. can anybody suggest a solution?

Does the right turn signal blink twice as fast? If so you may have a short in the car. I would try switching the right bulb with the left one....

I'm not sure how to fix a short in the line if this is the case. or track down the location of a possible short either, anyone else have an idea?

i found out that the fuse connected to the backup lights (#43) is also for the blinkers. it doesn't say this on the fuse panel or anywhere in the manual. i paid a mechanic $70 to figure it out.

Mechanics spend years learning and thousands on tools just for starters. If you are only out that money consider it a blessing. T

yeah, thanks for the advice. i'll consider it a blessing that i payed someone $70 to replace a fuse for me. being a woman of many women that have gotten ripped off by auto mechanics playing off of our lack of knowlegde regarding car repair, i have to say they must make their money back & then some.

I've said it before but most shops and mechanics are honest. It costs a fortune to even be in biz. Yes there are rip off artists and they usually get found out and go out of biz. Don't ever think WOMEN get singled out because MEN are just as good at knowing NOTHING about their car.Smile Tom

PS: There is a shop in my city that is all ASE certified girls and popular as all get out!

All Girl Shop Sign In

I'm pretty sure it is Rosies or Roses in Marlborough, MA. 01752. It's about 20 or so miles west of Boston. It's been a while but I could hunt down an address and phone # and would love to introduce them to this forum. It's a natural for women who are interested as in general women don't get angry and throw things when something doesn't work the first time. I'm all for it! One of my favorite parts proffessionals is a girl and dang good at it! T
