Fuel pump relay Sign In

I have a 93 saab 9000 that may have problems with the fuel pump. I drove it for 30 minutes, and then tried to start it after a few hours. It would not start. I waited half an hour tried again and started it. Drove it home(another 30 minutes) left it running in the drive, it stalled, I started it again it died again...this time it's dead. Was told it might be my fuel pump or the fuel pump relay. How would I know if the relay was working or not? I've listened for the hum of the fuel pump, but not sure I can hear anything. Any suggestions for a "single mother" at Christmas time would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Fuel pump relay Sign In

I would like to help but I’m not very familiar with Saab and anything I would add may send you on a wild goose chase.
Have it taken in and at least diagnosed, let us know what they find and we can go from there, as to whether or not it sounds feasible what they propose is the cause for the no start.
Most shops will have a flat rate fee for checking a vehicle and giving you an estimate on the repairs, I do at my shop. At that point you’re still not committed or obliged to have them repair the car.
Sorry I’m not of more help.
Dan.

Dan D...

Thanks for taking the time to give some advice! I was afraid if I got it to the shop, I would be committed
