2017 Kia Optima ex 2.4 97,000 miles First and foremost thank you for the time and donated experiance to whomever reads this and replies About two weeks ago my headlight burned out. I attempted to change the bulb, but no luck as a solution. I continued to drive for two weeks with one head light. The other side just went out. Went to auto zone and putted around trying to figure it out. Disconnect the passenger plug to bulb while looking for a solution. The light started working. Back to one working and one not working. I just turned on the car and both are back to not working What could be causing this to happen?

Probably a connection issue at the plug or another connector nearby. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

If I went to auto zone to order a replacement part, what would it be called?

Scott, just my 2 cents: It's just a couple years old probably too early for too much corrosion so would be checking for power and ground at the plug(s) with request for headlights. If you altered them to something non OE and added some device that IMO is the likely problem spot. Simple test light when they should be working. Note: Some will route power and grounds to one then that one plug see wiring going on to the other for a problem. Too new for Autozone this would almost certainly be dealer only if a faulty plug would be called a "pig-tail" or I would call it that. This new may only sell a whole section of harness? General: Don't touch bulb glass and do use bulb grease properly. It is true some high performance bulbs do not last many run hours if so just get used to doing them in pairs all the time if known how old, T
