Headlights won't come on

My dad has a 1996 Chevrolet Silverado pickup. 6cyl. I know the driving lights should come on when you start it up. For some reason, they don't anymore. I've looked at the fuse box for any blown fuses but didn't see any. The headlights DO work when you turn them on at the switch...Thanks for any help...Pete

Check for power at your DRL circuit board.

Is the parking brake releasing all the way? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I own the next model year with sealed beam headlights and it can cut out all headlights with the plug at front left if not good. Check that as it's on the maybe list. IDK why the other doesn't work but it takes both out for some unknown reason to me. Running lights stay working when it happened certainly not acceptable to drive at night with just those! I carry jumper wire to go right to battery if it pulls that again if just to get back to my shop if in a jam. Your truck should have plastic lenses and halogen bulbs but that plug may be wired similarly? T

Wiggle connections when this happens. If a change it's almost certainly the trouble spot. Side note: I love my North American made vehicles but deal with all. Why GM can be so stupid just makes me sick, Tom
