Recently ,my car started having starter issues. It.wouldn't start, so I took it to the mechanic and had the starter replaced.I was good for two months. My mechanic said the new starter went bad because the battery wasn't providing enough juice.I purchased a brand new battery and received a new starter. Now when I drive the car for a bit and then off the engine, come back minutes later and it won't start back up.The lights are on,AC works , but the car won't start. It takes 10 - 15 minutes for it to start back up again. I've had the car checked a number of times and no one can figure out the problem. Does anyone here know what might be causing this or had a similar experience?

When you say it doesn't start. Does nothing happen when your turn the key? Or does the engine crank over but not fire up?

Car lights up,but there's no crank. All you get is a click sound when you turn the key and that's it.

Ok.... The 1st thing I would do, would be to clean all the battery, engine block and body connections really good, this means taking them apart and using a wire brush, emery cloth or something similar. I know this sounds like a PITA and waste of time, but you would be surprise at how many "weird problems" doing this has solved. After that, you need to get a voltmeter (or test light) and when it's not cranking, check the small wire going to the starter solenoid while someone is try to start the engine. This wire needs to have 12v on it when the key is in the start position. no power and this is a problem and needs to be look at. If the trigger wire (small solenoid wire) has 12v while cranking, then you need to do some voltage drop testing on it, starting at the battery and going forward. If you are unsure on how do this, google voltage drop testing.... Start with cleaning those connections.... There is a high probability that doing this will solve your problem...

Yes all along. Don't allow a battery to be neglected is true. Assertively clean up real good once and lube it with I prefer routine wd-40 once good but will do first with silicone or dialectic grease - both at battery and at starter all connections there plus the ground to engine end and to body. Not all environments have the issue but humid, damp days and plain this little age the zinc crap wires can't take it even heat or cold alone! It's not on a routine maintenance list just ask or do it yourself. Look under those protective caps see the situation now and routinely so you don't even have to redo all the time once right. Mark a good battery if proven good even new with a label of when and just toss it by 4 years, charge it first and do it with a memory saver device known to work or ask. Too many things reset if you just undo one for any reason. This is a horrible problem without a warning you should be doing this or asking for it as a routine check! T
