Lights won't switch off - Daewoo Matiz Sign In

I have suddenly started to experience a problem in not being able to switch off the side lights on my 1999 Daewoo Matiz SE. To turn them off I have to disconnect the battery and when I connect up again everything is OK until I use the lights again. Then they will switch on and off for a while until they won't switch off again. On one occasion they turned themselves on after I had garaged the car. Everything else controlled by the same stalk works OK - headlights, indicators. I imagine the problem is a faulty switch unless anyone can point me in another direction.

You would have to obtain a wiring diagram for this, but you need to see if these lights are controlled by a separate relay. If they are, the relay may be worn out and the contacts are freefloating causing an intermittent closed circuit. Replacing this relay should solve the problem.

Thanks Steve. I swopped the lights' relay with the horn relay and the horn wouldn't work properly so the relay must be the problem. The lights now work OK so I'll get a new relay for the horn tomorrow. That's saved me wasting money on a new switch.
