Mazda B4000 advice needed

Hi. I need a bit of advice on a 2007 B4000. I like the truck with a couple of exceptions and, as my skills lean toward carpentry rather than auto mechanics, would appreciate some advice. I can do basic wiring. First problem. There seems to be no way to keep the dome light from going on when the door opens. Is there an aftermarket dome light I an put in with an old-fashioned on-off switch? If so, who would carry it? If not, would it be possible to put in, say, a rocker switch behind the light? Second problem. Just got back from a hunting trip where my partner lost a good shot due to the truck's warning alarm (not sure if that's the right term, but it's an annoying noise). Is there a way to install a switch which would just turn off the alarm (whistle? bell?) for an unbuckled seat belt, door ajar, key in lock, etc? I don't particularly want to turn off the warning lights, just the noise. Thanks for your advice.

Due to the warning chime being a safety feature, can't tell you how to disable it. If you want to get hold of the service information and wiring schematics on your own to disable the system, that is your choice. You would think that if you removed the key from the ignition and had your headlamps switched off, the warning chime wouldn't activate when you opened any doors. As for the dome lamp there should be a dome defeat option on the illumination dimmer switch. Since we volunteer our time and knowledge, we ask for you to please follow up when a problem is resolved.

talk to your dealer MAYBE they can be programed as you want - I know on the GM's ford they can change some things - So no expense in asking. Sure to the overhead light switch - the Chime - a good tech could 'disable' for you
