I'm having a bit of an electrical issue with my car, and I'd like to see if It's something I can fix once I know what part is bad, or if it's something I need to take in to a shop. Symptoms: 1.) Last night my car horn went off, it was a constant sound, and I had to unhook the battery to stop it. Once I hooked up the battery again, It immediately started again. Eventually pulled the fuse to stop it. This has happened once before, about 3-4 months ago, and I took it to the dealer since my car was still under warranty. The horn itself had stop working entirely, and they replaced the horn. It hasn't done that again until yesterday. 2.) When I turn my headlights on, SOMETIMES it also turns on my windshield wipers. Dealer tried to reproduce the problem but couldn't. This was also happening 3-4 months ago, and literally just started again. Had to pull the fuse to stop this too. 3.) My door lock actuators stopped working, both drive and passenger side. The mfg replaced them 3-4 months ago along with the horn, haven't had a problem with them again yet. 4.) *completely new issue* Passenger side headlight keeps blowing fuses, I believe it's an issue with the ballast, ordered a new ballast for it already. 5.) *completely new issue* Last night i got in my car, turned on my headlights, and they were on for a few seconds, then flickered off. I cannot get them to come back on without turning them off then back on. When they flicker off, the interior lights also do the same (the gauge lights and whatnot.) Car stats: 2007 Mitusbishi Eclipse GS 2.4L, 61,XXX miles on it. I feel like there must be some master control thing that runs all this stuff, and it needs to be replaced, but I don't know a whole lot about it. Thanks!

"I feel like there must be some master control thing that runs all this stuff, and it needs to be replaced, but I don't know a whole lot about it. Thanks!" yeah, the body control module controls that stuff. I would take it back to a different Mitsubishi dealer now that it has all these problems and get them to diagnose it. -------------------------------------------------------- Your only as good as your tools!

So now that the MFG Warranty is gone, how much would I expect a repair of this nature to cost? Is this something they should have been able to test/repair when I took it in before having these problems under the MFG warranty?

Suggestion: Check for recalls. Have the VIN ready and forget email but call the # in owner's manual, Tom

They would have had to do something about it when it was still under warranty. You would have to get it looked at first to see what they say is wrong with it and how much it's going to cost. -------------------------------------------------------- Your only as good as your tools!
