Sometimes when i (the husband) tries to start the wifes Prius the dash lights dont come on.She says it never happens to her but it has happened to me several times. The car cranks but the interior dash lights do not come on therefore your speedometer does show. Any help thanks.

Well this will be a tough one if it NEVER happens to your wife and only sometimes to you? If you want, check for a single fuse that controls those lights and just toss it for new and if it never happens again that was it OR if you can get it to stay with the problem see if a perhaps a dealer will quickly give it a look and see what they come up with.

Many "hide and seek" problems may require it stays broken long enough for fix. If anything about this cars wasn't running properly at the same time it would be much easier to find out why,

Do you use her key fob when you do this or a different one?

The remote. These don't use a key that you turn in a lock cylinder, the key fob is programmed to the car. They "talk" to each other wirelessly so as long as it is somewhere in the car the car will run. Same thing I have in my Camry.
