Hi, i've got a '96 MK3 Golf GTI 2.0 8v fitted with what I believe is a factory fit Conlog alarm. Problem is, every time I attempt to remove the car battery to do work on the car, the bl**dy alarm goes off, and it won't stop unless I reconnect the battery and disarm with the keyfob. Do you have any ideas on how to get around this. It has been a problem since I bought the car nearly a year ago, and it's driving me nuts. Only thing i've managed to do is to run the battery flat with a bulb before disconnecting it, but there HAS to be an easier way. Thanks in advance.

There should be an OFF setting for alarms. They hide them so they are not all in the same place. You need to find out where it is if only to have your car serviced you should be able to disable the system, T
