Rear lift gate sendor

3.8 engine
I’m having problems with the rear lift gate
The key fob only opens the gate, won’t close it
The overhead switch will only open the gate, will not close it either
The button on the lift gate itself will not close the gate
Is there some kind of sensor located on this van I can look for to try to fix this problem ? All the fuses look ok

That system is operated by a control module. You will need a professional scan tool capable of accessing this particular module. From there you will be able to see any stored codes and the status of all sensors. You will also be able to see if the module is receiving the down signal from the switch.
