'o5 Chevy Imp LS, v6 3.8 Speedometer works sometime, then it doesn't. When not, it starts at 50 or 60mph, when driving it will go up to 100 mph. while actual speed is 40 mph. I thought possibly a speed sensor in trans or whiring harness to sensor might be the problem. No , electrical Problem or engine light fault's. 65,000 miles on car. Well maintained overall. Also, this is not a digital speedo. I am an experienced in auto repair. I know if you tell what I should do , I can do the repair. Thanks, help!!!!!!

You really need a scan tool to perform a gauge sweep test. If you have that then you can perform a proper test. It is likely a bad cluster. Very common. Jeff
