i was driving and the battery light came on and the car died. pulled over and it wouldnt start. waited ten minutes and it fired right up and went another mile down the road. stalled. waited 15 mins started up made it another mile. i would think alternator but why would the car be able to fire up again after setting awhileFrown

It fired up again because you likely have a good battery that comes back from resting. You need to charge and test the battery and then test the charging system. it sounds like you have a bad alternator or other issue with the charging system.

the battery is less than four years old. alternatr not sure. dam ni just replaced the surp belt to, would of been easy to fix it than and who was the person who thought removing the motor mount was an okay step in replacing a belt id like to know

Why don't you do as HT suggested and charge the damn battery and then test the charging system. 4 years on a cheap battery is plenty and with recent serp belt that could be wrong. Age of alternator doesn't mean much so find the problem!
