battery or alternator? Sign In

i jump start the car and it turns on, but when i disconnect it and turn off the car and try to start it again it doesnt even crank help is appreciated!

Have the battery and charging system tested.

just took it to get it checked n they told me its bad.. i had a new one and installed it but didnt worked i guessed it got discharged.. if it was my alternator would it still start when i get a jump?

Unless the whole world changed most new batteries are NOT fully charged and should never be left dead as they don't like that and if alternator is working and seems it is know they require a decent battery to put out their best and if they work too hard it can ruin a good one.

Been my habit forever to charge up battery first then install it. Yup, have had my share of bad new ones most likely from improper handling before you got it,
