buick wiper switch
|
|
|
2002 buick lesabre with 3.8 about 85k on the odometer . Clicked on the washer function and the wipers wouldn't turn off , put them on on a delay mode but they ran consistently ,tried the washer again and they would run faster than they should . set on fast they would run on low . They finally shut off but 5 miles later they went on by themselves , the high beam function never operated normal in the 5 years we've had it so I'm thinking the multi switch is bad ,the directionals work O.K.. If it is the multi switch how do I disable the airbag ? The red light for air bag has been on for a few years , I would think pull a batt terminal for 5 minutes but I want to be sure .

That is far more likely a bad delay board/module on the motor, not the switch. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

I replaced the motor about a year and a half ago from napa (i can check exact date),when they wouldn't go on at all , is that all the life you can expect out of them on account of a module ?

Hell, I've had them bad right out of the box. Chances are it was a reman to start with.

I put it in jan. of 2015 and it wasn't from napa , so yeah , one wiper motor coming up . I'll ask for the "new" part option if they have it , or go to the dealer . Thanks again .

You might be able to buy the module separately. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

nap said they do have the module only, some models did some didn't .I think once I get into it I'll replace the whole unit , hate to have the motor quit next Being it's the same quality as the module . This car does love attention

A new reman. motor took care of things with a one year warranty , a new one was 5 days away and a little more $$ . I replaced 2 motor mounting screws with bolts , I would have made it with 3 bolts instead of torx screws to begin with but what do I know .
