I discovered a a faulty alternator at the end of a 100 kilometre drive the car still worked then i turned it off, I replaced the alternator and now the car wont start. the battery heas been verified and it will not start with boosting either. The spring loaded tensioner arm was loosened by torning towards the front of the vehicle and reset to its position after the operation. what could be wrong . it is a standard and i performed the operation with the car in neutral did i screw the timing, is the timing even in relation with the serpintine drivebelt of a 94 cavalier

You need to get another alternator or have that one checked and it is a pain in the butt to put on from my experience..
