Does it come on with the A/C? Is the temperature going all the way to the red zone? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Check your fuse first. This is a pretty basic circuit. You can test the pins at the relay. It's located in the relay box in the engine compartment. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

im not sure, but i have a 1999 cavalier also, and when i got it, inside the fuse box under the hood, the power wire leading to the fan, must have been corroted. there was another wire spliced inside the fuse box, and it was zip-tied downside the thick bundle of wires and had it rewired. not sure, but that may be the same problem with yours.
