Re: charging system Sign In

If all fuses and all wiring is good, the only thing left is the voltage regulator. The only problem there is the regulator is built into the PCM (engine computer).

Being way2old is why I need help from younger minds

Re: charging system Sign In

Are you getting 12V to the alternator? It's gotta have battery voltage to make it 'work'.

Re: charging system Sign In

the auto shut down relay(asd)supplies B+ to generator shoud be a dark green/orange wire.Make sure you have B+ at generator with ngine running.where are you measuring 11,84 volts?if you are getting 11.84 volts at battery+ then measure at generator output at generator.if good there bad wire from there to B+ or bad fusible link.If all is good then the wire from PCM to generator that controls the field(field driver in PCM)the wire may be bad.Would need labscope to scope signal on this wire but you could disconnect wiring from PCM and generator and do resistance to see if wire is good.also check all connections at generator.
