I have a 1992 mazda mx-3 1.6 ltr 4 cyl 199000 miles resently battery lamp came on went to auto zone tested battery and altinator they said altinator was bad took it out and had it tested off car it passed every time forced a fail and purchased a new altinater had it tested and it passed. Took it home put on car and immediatly the lamp came back on so why wouldn't the altinator charge my battery is there some sort of relay or cable i need to change i am a student and life in the country only vechile avaiable to travel to school

Your post is a little confusing..... If the alternator passed off the car, why would you buy a new one?..... I'm not sure what you meant by "forced a fail" Anyways....here we are........ A couple of quick things you can do is, 1st get test light and check all your fuses.... I believe that one just has one box under the dash but check under the hood to be sure...... Then with the test light check the large terminal on the back of the alternator where the large gauge wire bolts to, that should have 12v all the time..... Depending on what you find would determine your next steps.........
