the car will only run when you turn the cam sensor 180 degrees from mounting position. whats up with that?

ive tried the replacement and the original, if you mount it back in the bolt hole, the injectors and plugs will only fire one time untill you hit the key a second time. computer, cam and crank sensors are new

That's strange. If you rotate the sensor 180 degrees, the computer will fire the injectors and coil like it should on the first key start, but in the mounted position it doesn't run until you start it a second time?
Is the engine controller setting any codes when the sensor is mounted in the correct position?

i have a shop, and receieved the car from another mechanic. when i got it the car would not run at all. i checked the injectors with noid light and when you turn the engine over, you only get one ground pulse to the injectors. and the coils will only fire one time. so i ran wires, for defects or burns and found nothing. and after changing the computer, cam, and crank sensor the car was doing the exact same thing. i just got to messing around with the sensor and turned it 180, and it fired off and runs perfect. thinking i had a defective cam sensor, i tried a OEM sensor and found the same problem. i know it sounds crazy but its true.

Do you have a scope?
Did the other mechanic do any engine work or had the valve cover off?

yes, i have a scope. the other man didnt do anything but put a crank senson in it. ive pulled the valve cover to be sure the relucter gear on the cam was not damaged in any way and found nothing. do you know what the crank sensor picks up off of? is it a fixed reluctor gear on the crank or something that could have moved?

Near the end of the crank inside the engine block there is a signal plate that interrupts the crank sensor.
Did you scope the crank and cam sensor signals?

You know that is odd. I was in IATN reading some threads and a lot of techs are finding the chains jumping on those. I guess rotating the sensor changed the angle of where it reads the interrupter on the cam.
Did you scope the signals and find they were out of sync with each other?
