2000 Pontiac Grand Prix SE has intermitten electical issues. Vehicle has 3.1 liter w/187,000 miles. It happens more often than not but at times it works fine. All at the same time, the gear shift has to be overrode (via override button) to go into gear, gear selection light on dash will not illuminate, AC will not work (fan blows but not cold), and cooling fans will not work (engine gets hot). I have replace cooling fan switch and thermostat and looked for loose wires.

Check all fuses by test light. Not sure how A/C plays into this and may not but it should trigger fans to work if the compressor comes on. Most of that is probably low refrigerant so compressor won't come on. The shifting and lighted indicator my be related. Make sure you brake lights work Sounds silly but many sense the brake light switch to allow shifting out of park. If fans to engine never come on that no doubt uses a relay also. It's hard but don't let it overheat if at all possible. I think there's a couple things going on with this and not just one common fault for all those troubles, T
