ford power locks Sign In

I bought my daughter a 2000 ford focus se 4 door with 4 cyl. 130,000 kms. The buttons for the power locks and power trunk do not work I looked through the owners manual but that did not help. I only have 1 key and nothing else. Any help woud be greatly appreciated.

Something easy you could do would be to check all the fuses with a test light to make sure they are good.

Just to be sure we are on same page . You ARE talking about the buttons on the door panel not a key fob? As Mr. Sidom has so eloquently stated. Check fuses first.

I had looked at all the fuses but I will check them with a meter. I'm talking about the buttons on the doors and dashboard, I do not have a key fob for the car.
Thanks

In my opnion its much easier to test basic electrical things like fuses with a test light . They are not that expensive and you will use it often. BUT thats just my opinion.Wink If fuses check out , take master switch out of door panel and check for power to any of the wires . If no,check the wires inside rubber accordian that the wires pass thru from door to body .Quite often one or more wires will break from the constant bending when open/closing door.
