headlight adjustment Sign In

hi.. i own a 1993 dodge caravan and i just have a problem with the headlights... they seem to focus towards the center, and so im having problems seeing things peripheral to the car, especially when traveling through dark roads.. how do you adjust the focus of these headlights? by the way, i would like to upgrade the bulbs using xenon bulbs. with a much higher wattage, do i still need to put a relay on? thanks...

There is an adjustment for up and down and left and right which you should see and may need to open the hood to see them. Put some penetrating oil on the screws and wait if they look corroded.

Stand with help or a towel at night one lamp at a time... blocking the light so you know where each is going.

This vehicle should not need better than OEM but if you want to try go 4 it, T

Ok - you don't adjust the focus just the aim which is some screw one top center of the lense and one to the outer side of each for aim.

If these are sealed beams forgive me there would be more screws and they do make sealed beams that have a much wider reach and light up the sides of the road better and I use them, T
