hi im not a car person by any means so pls dont expect me to know what im talking about.any way onto my problem . me and my wife bought a mitsubishi magna v6 1995 model. my wife likes to do every thing she can herself so she hooked up the stereo and all was fine it worked but when u turned the car off u had to turn the stereo off as it would stay on.( not sure if this had anything to do with it but u guys need info right)than she went to go out at night and had no dash lights. in the morning she checked the fuse for dash lights and replaced it (it was blown). when she put in new fuse it blew again than she decided to try a 30 amp fuse where it was ment to be 10amp. ( i know this is very bad but i wasnt there to stop her) anyway the wire fried all the way to the incar fuse box.the car will still start, she has headlights, and break lights but no other electrical.i started to look at the wires from the underhood fuse box and the green\white wire (dashlights ) is melted all the way to the incar fuse box.it has also melted wires together but not all the way through to expose wires(i think, of what i have seen so far)is it possable for me to pull the wireing out from the underhood fuse box to the incar fuse box and replace just the burnt out wires or does the whole car need to be rewired or what?? i dont have a clue . the wife rang a auto electrician over phone and we explained to him what happened and he said $500-1500 which we just cannot afford atm is there any way to fix this myself as i have no clue with cars

ok i have exposed 90% of the wires from the incar fusebox to the unerhood fuse box the burnt out wire is black in most parts a few other wires where i seperated them from where they where melted onto the burnt out wire have a few small spots where wire is exposed. but it is still copper coloured not black so i just taped them up with electric tape. the burnt out wire however is pluged into the very top of the incar fuse box and i have been trying for over a hour to get it undone with no luck is there a easyway to losen the cluster of wires going through firewall to incar fusebbox so i can get it unpluged.i canot press the button on plug as the wires are very tight hope some 1 can help.
