I have a 2002 Chevy Malibu 6cyc. I've done the test and have a draw of 1.7amps. Removed Maxi Fuse 2 (30amp) drop loss to .80 amps, removed Maxi Fuse 3 (30amp) draw dropped to .01. Manual states #2 fuse = right electrical center-fog lamps, radio, body function control mod, interior lamps. #3 fuse= left electrical center-stop lamps body function control mod. cluster climate control system. removed all fuses, one at a time from left side compartment, no change, also right side, no change in power draw. All fuses intact all accessories are working, what next? Thank you

You didn't expire the timers so the testing is invalid. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

Mr. Hamertime. I did the re-set as you outlined in your first post and found the body function control module, left side interior fuse box, to be the culprit. Replacement mods require flash programing or vehical specific on car programing must be performed to function. Is this something a shade tree mechanic can do or do I need a shop to do this? Thanks again for the guidance..

If in fact you replace this unit you will need dealer level equipment to program it. I hate to burst your bubble but the BCM itself may not be at fault. There are many functions that run through the BCM that could be causing the draw through the BCM.

What did you do to determine it was the BCM itself and not some other load controlled by the BCM? How fast does the battery go dead, is it overnight or does it takes a few day to run down? What is the current draw after all the modules time out/go to sleep?

replying to both, I drew down the mods, caps, by jumping the + and - batt. cables while off the battery for 1 hour. Re-connected the + side pulled the - placed amp meter neg lead to battery - positive lead from amp meter - battery post. Amp draw 1.7. started removing fuse's first from the paasenger side box then drivers side until draw dropped to .01 amps when pulling BCM BATT fuse 10amp from driver side. The battery goes dead after about 24+ hours,

I have no other issues with regard to the BCM. All accessories work as they should

you got me confused now. I need to leave the jumper in place between the + and - cables while off the battery , then hook up the amp meter to the - cable and - battery post, then start pulling fuses???

Yes, you leave the jumper for the expiration period while the meter is also hooked up so when you remove the jumper, the meter is already turned on and in place. A disconnect of even a split second starts everything all over again.
