I have a ford puma 1.7 1998 and the temp gauge does not work, it moves from off the register, to the bottom when the ignition is turned, and then stays there no matter how hot the car gets. The coolant fan does not kick in either. It is not the temp swtich as this has bee replaced which has changed nothing. it is not the thermostat as that is working fine i have even tried another dash/clocks and it remains the same. The car is ok other than the radio does not work either (no its not a fuse either!) am at a complete loss at what the problem is here. the car does get hot so why are these things not worlking?? any ideas or advice will be so appreciated

I do not know about the gauge as you have already taken care of everything I would have told you to check. The fan that does not work is quite a problem. You may need to check that it is belt driven, off the drive belt or whether it is an electric fan. If it is electric, it is supposed to work off your temp sensor. If it is not doing this, you may need to get to checked.
