turn signals suddenly stoped working Sign In

I have a 93' buick skylark 3.3L V6. The turn signals suddenly stoped working. Right before they stopped for a few days they would blink really fast as if the buld was getting ready to go out. I have no front or back, left or right blinker. I do have my hazard lights, (the fourways). The fuses are good. Replaced the Turn signal flasher, and still nothing. What else can be the problem?

Spry; It sounds like a flasher problem. Did you replace the correct one? There are two, one for the turn signals and one for the hazards. The hazards flasher is usually the EASY one to get to, most usually in the fuse box. The other, which they like to hide, up under the dash, is usually the culprit. Turn your hazards on. If the one that is clicking is the one you replaced, keep looking.

Thank you. The flasher I replaced which I thought was for turn signal turned out to be the hazzard. I still never found the turn signal. But plus side since I had all of the under dash torn apart, a mechanic said they could put it in if I took it in. They did it for free. And now I know were its at. Go under the dash straight up on right side pretty much next to the heating console. ( I would have never found that).

Spry; Don't feel bad; I've found those silly things clear over by the glove box. I think the engineers do it, then sit back and laugh. "That'll fix them suckers!"
