2013 Subaru Outback Ltd

My sister's car so I haven't seen the problem. She says that this car is known for weak headlights (low beams). The bulbs are within 6 months new.

Has anyone ever heard of this problem? If so, is there a fix?

Thank you.

It's probably an old style incandescent bulb. Might be out of adjustment too. If the lens is foggy that will hurt also.

You could probably improve it with Halogen or Led bulbs.

HT has already covered some of the usual problems. A bad ground can cause a dim bulb, but that is usually on 1 side, not both. If the lights are very weak, Your sister could drive with her high beams on. As long as it's not a 4 light system she should be okay. As long as people can't tell the high beams are on by seeing 4 bulbs on.
From what you posted, being too bright wouldn't be a problem

All said applies. OK, it's your sister's and haven't seen it? Can you?
If LED or not, new or not should be the same IMO or a ground issue.

Helps depending on situation if you can use a garage door/wall or something at night AND bring or have a blanket to cover one side at a time know where they are pointed.

Adjustment AYOR - knobs, screws obvious or hidden may be fussy or break be ready if you touch that stuff if away from home base have plan B ready for it. Search out bulbs now know what's out there and how much prices all over the place so is quality of the things,
