This 2104 code is what is called an informational code that usually sets when there are other codes. Also when this code sets it puts the Throttle Actuator Control (TAC) system in what is called Failure Mode Effects Management (FMEM) of mode forced idle. In other words the Powertrain Control Module (PCM or computer) has put the systems in limp in mode; this is to give you enough power to get off the road and hopefully not cause any damage to the powertrain (engine & transmission) or the emission systems. So yes whatever is causing this code to set; could be causing all of the issues or one of the issues is causing all the others, including the code. As to what; it’s any ones guess until you get involved in what could be a very long & drawn out test procedure. This could be anything from having to have the PCM reprogrammed, to a sensor that has absolutely nothing to do with the TAC system. No silver bullet fix on this one; take it in to where someone has the proper test equipment & knowledge to perform the diagnostics. Dan. Canadian "EH"
