My 95 sephia occasionally will not start. It has spark but will not fire or attempt to fire. Code 02 - -no distributor signal - comes up on scanner. Any ideas. If it sits a day or 2 it starts and runs fine.

If you have the equipment and know alot about repairing cars
check the following
CODE 02: NO NE-SIGNAL
1. Check distributor connector for poor connection. Clean or repair connector as necessary. If connector
okay, go to next step.
2. Check if Code 03 is also present. If Code 03 is present, go to next step. If Code 03 is not present, go to step 5).
3. Using an ohmmeter, check for continuity between ground and terminal No. 1 (Black/Red wire) of distributor connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, locate and repair open in Black/Red wire between ground and distributor connector.
4. Turn ignition on. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 2 (White/Red wire) of distributor connector. If battery voltage is present, go to next step. If battery voltage is not present, locate and repair open in wiring between distributor connector and main relay.
5. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity of Yellow/Blue wire between terminals No. 3 of distributor connector and No. 3 of ECM C249 (26-pin) connector. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, locate and repair open in Yellow/Blue wire.
6. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Blue wire) of ECM C249 (26-pin) connector. If voltage is zero or 4.5-5.5 volts, replace distributor. If voltage is not zero or 4.5-5.5 volts,
to next step.
7. Disconnect distributor connector. Measure voltage between ground and terminal No. 3 (Yellow/Blue wire) of ECM C249 (26-pin) connector. If voltage is 4.5-5.5 volts, locate and repair short in wiring between ECM connector and distributor connector. If voltage is not 4.5-5.5 volts, replace ECM.
