96 Lumina, 6cyl, 3.1L

I am pretty sure I need to replace intake manifold gasket, losing antifreeze, starting to leak from back of engine, not leaking into motor. But I am getting EGR valve code and TERRIBLE gas mileage. I have cleaned EGR, then got one from junkyard, cleaned it, cleaned down inside intake, still getting code and still paying a mint in gas. Could bad intake gasket cause EGR problems??

No, the gasket won't cause the EGR problems but it can cause the bad gas mileage and coolant leaks. You could have a plugged passage or wiring problem with the EGR. That will have to be diagnosed after the intake gasket is repaired.
