Code P0440 is for the EVAP system and needs to be address prior to the P0101 (MAF sensor). The EVAP system checks itself by putting the system into a vacuum, then looks to see if it holds vacuum. If it doesn't, then it sets this code. It could be a leak in the system, a solenoid problem, ect. This may or may not correct the MAF code, but need to do this, first. As far as the MAF circuit is concerned, the sensor looks for air temp and volume entering the intake. A hose leak after the MAF or a contaminated sensor can cause this code.
