My scanner lists monitors and I'd like to have them " cleared " for the inspection before I bring it in , Some are O.K. , one is N/A , and about 4 are inc. and I imagine those are a problem ? I'm allowed 1 in NY and last I heard from the mech. is I had 2 , now I see 4 , what are these "monitors" ?

You mean complete right? You don't want to clear the monitors because they will have to run over again to complete.

N/A means that monitor isn't supported by that vehicle. Disregard that one. Which ones are incomplete?

As DS stated, clearing them only starts the process all over so there is no benefit to clearing anything unless you just repaired something.

I read the monitors , evap system mon inc , oxygen sensor heater inc , catalyst mon inc , there was a new evap pressure sensor put on this morning and the car went about 45 miles round trip highway miles , no other trouble codes were there

All those monitors have criteria to get them to run. EVAP takes a awhile. There can't be any pending codes stored. If the engine doesn't reach operating temp from stuck open thermostat or coolant sensor issues the catalyst test won't run. Look through the engine data stream and look for anything that doesn't look right.

EVAP:

Quote
CONDITIONS FOR RUNNING

Non Scan Tool Service Bay Test equipped vehicles
^ The barometric pressure (BARO) is more than 75 kPa.
^ The fuel level is between 15 and 85 percent.
^ The battery voltage is between 10-18 volts.
^ The test will initiate only after a cold start. The control module considers the engine to be cold if the following conditions are met:
- The engine coolant temperature (ECT) is between 4-30°C (39-86°F).
- The intake air temperature (IAT) is between 4-30°C (39-86°F).
- The difference between the ECT and the IAT is less than 8°C (14°F).

Quote
If the test does not run after numerous attempts and no DTC is set, review the appropriate scan tool data list and the service information for an indication of why the test does not complete. Some tests may abort due to changes in the conditions while the test is running. For example, changes in engine load, such as a cooling fan or an A/C compressor clutch turning ON, may cause the test to abort.

The evap mon came up O.K. as did the others except for one remaining catalyst mon. I got the inspection and I'll see if the new coolant temp. sensor helps to drop the inc. on that , thanks

I'll have to look up the exact criteria but usually if you take it out on the freeway and hold it steady around 60 for 5 to 10 minutes the cat monitor will run....if you hit the brk or turn sharp it all starts over...
