can anyone tell me how to make the code p1380 on a 98 zx2 go away without replacing the vct solenoid--at the tune of 350.00 ++ just for the part. The engine runs fine but won't pass the emision test with the code showing the (has been checked with a volt meter and the vct solenoid is open when the engine gets warm)

The only way this light will go out is to repair the problem. you could have a wiring problem or a faulty VCT solenoid or a faulty PCM . there is no way round to turn off this MIL light you have to repair the problem. Did you clear the PCM after reading the codes? , http://www.flatratetech.com staff tech Indy Shop owner
