Hi! I have an 04 Sonata 2.7 V6 with 65000 mi. that will not start. Here is what we have done and the symptoms: Car started, immediately stalled (engine was cold) Sound of cranking was different, sounded like no compression Checked Timing Belt - motor in time Crank Sensor harness chafed with exposed copper wire No major work has been done on engine or car The motor was not overheated Engine is now out of car - still no compression Cam Sensor? Flood Cylinder walls with fuel? Cylinder washed out? Thoughts? Suggestions?

Wow... Sounds like you're already into this one if you've got the engine out... 1st thougt was timing belt......Then....yea could be washed out,,,,seen that before.... Most of my suggestions the motor kinda needs to be in the car... I would've liked to see actually compression readings, dry & wet. I guess you could run a leakdown test on it now and maybe get lucky, usually it's a good idea to know what the problem is before you pull the motor..........
