Hi All! I'm restoring a classic 1973 Mach 1 Mustang, (351 Cleavland) and recently ran into a rather frustrating problem. The distributor won't budge. I loosened the bolt clamping the distributor to the engine block, but nothing changed. The distributor won't move at all. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

It's seized into the block. You can keep hitting it with penetrating oil and slowly tap it back and forth until it works loose. It might take a while and you likely will have to replace the distributor when you get it out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ We offer help in answering questions, clarifying things or giving advice but we are not a substitute for an on-site inspection by a professional.

oh man, that sounds bad. We don't need to remove the distributor, we just need to twist it, (adjust timing) is there any bolt that we're missing, or a trick to it??

No trick I know of. TMK, 1/2" bolt, the holding "U" type bar out of the way. Lube it there as already said. Try PB expect to redo or replace distributor. "Twist and Shout" till it come OUT. Oh, that rhymes, T
