i have a 1985 delta 88 with a 3.05 engine which keeps over heating and when i take my foot off the gas the engine shuts off, what could be the problem? I have flushed my radiator, replaced the water pump, replaced the thermostat, and overflow reservoir. It will crank up and i can drive it about a good block but then it will over heat, im thinking its the clutch fan. But the biggest problem im having is what will make the car shut off when it is idling or if i take my foot off of the gas. It has a full tank of gas in the car, and im actually trying to restore it because it has sentimental value to me. People i have talked to said that i may have a cracked head but there is no water in my oil. PLEASE HELP!!!

You're going to have to get a handle on the engine problem 1st, more than likely it's tied into the overheat problem. Overheating in a block is way to fast... Start off with trying to find out if you have a dead cyl. Run a compression test, look at the plugs real close while they are out....
