My cherokee cranks and runs for approximately four seconds. Then shuts itself off. We have replaced fuel filter, fuel pump, and fuel pump relay, and automatic shutdown relay. I've checked all vacuum connections and everything seems fine. I'm scratching my head. Does anybody have any idea what my next move should be?

Sell It..

Just kidding ( I just drove home in traffic with no heat so I couldn't even depend on the air follow to heat me up degrees outside)

Does it seem to choke out or just die?

I would check for some spark from a plug as well, this way you can tell if it may be the Distributor Cap or somewhere in the ignition system

Hook a fuel pressure guage up to the test port. Crank the engine and the guage should hold steady around 35 psi. If the fuel pressure starts to drop, or you don't read fuel pressure, check for power and ground at the fuel pump module. You may have a faulty fuel pump relay or a blown fuse.
You can confirm a fuel supply problem by taking a propane bottle and putting a rubber fuel line hose on the end of the torch fitting. Direct the propane into the air cleaner housing and have an assistant crank the engine as you open the valve. If the engine starts and runs, you have narrowed the problem to fuel.
Use caution with the propane method!!! You do have a risk of a flash fire if the propane hits ignition wires that are deteriorated!!! This is a common procedure at my shop but I am still extremely cautious each and every time!

I really appreciate the ideas. I'm getting a fuel pressure guage. I'll try checking the pressure and the spark and post back when I have some results. Thanks again for all the ideas.
