1995 Toyota Camry - sputtering Sign In

I have a 1995 Toyota Camry with 200,000 on it, that is sputtering and then dies. I have changed the fuel pump, filter, starter, battery, so far. It started doing this after I filled the tank with Safeway fuel. Someone said it could be bad gas so I put Heet in the tank, nothing. It will start and the RPM's go up then drop off to where it dies. It will sometimes drive for a block and then starts to sputter and die again. Help!!

Is the check engine light on? If so have the codes pulled....

If you haven't used the tank of gas you got yet, pull off a fuel line an take a sample in a glass jar, if there is water mixed with it, it will be obvious...

If you've already used up that tank and got fuel from a different place, then you're gonna have to start from scratch. The codes would be a good place to start

You may have a bad IAC ( idle air control) but try eliminating any vacuum leaks and cleaning the throttle body first. Remove the intake snorkel, have someone hold the throttle wide open for you and scrub the back side of the throttle plate and surrounding bore with an old tooth brush and some carb cleaner. Be sure to spray some into the small holes next to the throttle plate. That should help stabilize the idle. If it still has a problem, replace the IAC.

That's surprising since I'm so foggy with the flu right now.....Actually I would probably look at the IAC after pulling codes....Easier than pulling a fuel sample and could be the problem....

I think I misread the post, I was thinking it was cutting out & dying while driving, not idling.....
