96 Silverado 350 2wd won’t start it turns over but nothing
Things I’ve done as follows:
Fuel pump fuel filter fuel relay made sure the tank was clean and wiped out and has good new fuel there was water in the tank all the way up to the cylinder but I’ve drained dryer and purged with good fuel the plugs were wet with water but I got new ones and let it sit open to help evaporate what I could not get to, new distributor, cam sensor crank sensor both lower and upper intake gaskets new injectors new plugs and wires has compression on all 8 at about 105 fuel pressure is at 62-65 time is set TDC and 1 on compression no coolant leaks checked via coolant pressure test and held 13 psi for 15 minutes and only dropped to 11.5 after about another 30-45 minutes but I think the test connection was not that great it’s not the pass lock or the pass lock sensor the anti theft light is not on it will fire off a spray can of carb/brake cleaner and then just dies off I’ve looked at all the block and frame grounds they seem fine and also not 1 single code on the scan tool
Any help would be good thanks in advance

First I deleted your email. You don't want to post that here is a public forum. The spammers will have a field day with it.

If you're finished throwing parts at it, it's time to diagnose it the right way.

Judging by your fuel pressure I assume this is a TBI engine.

Does your check engine light come on for bulb check when the key is first turn on without cranking?

What you haven't check yet is the injector pulse. You need to check that using a noid light. DO NOT use an incandescent test light.

What engine is in this and is it original to this truck? Does it say "Vortec" on it? That's the high fuel pressure set up is great but can be a pest. You can't just set timing rather get it close then finish with techno tools you won't have.

Don't go parts tossing - too late I guess WATER like that is there some reason? Flood truck? Open book that totals vehicles this old or not it's OBDII the first year of it be a PITA for life.

BTW, back to 1st question what engine is this as calling it a 350 is correct for a 5.7 is a SBC.

Other bull: Use starting fluid it evaporates if it doesn't work at least. Carb, throttle body, or other solvents some are like fire extinguishers to clean stuff not flammable at all rather the opposite - FIRE PROOF. That end that test out of harm's way on a rag or something AYOR out of harm's way also,

I own this truck in a 1997 "R" VIN (8th digit VIN#) for engine the Vortec another drivetrain. Nothing like water, fuel necks in way of crap off FL wheel rusts out, who knows what else if allowed to puncture?

Other - those parts are not costly new the real fuel pump (new OE GM is mandatory) at least can access live pressure at fuel rail on these easily,

Tom

OK, I confused your coolant pressure with fuel pressure. You do have a Vortec.

The timing is NON-ADJUSTABLE. If you moved the distributor in any way you have thrown the fuel injectors out of synch with the ignition. You would need a professional scan tool to correct that.

You still need to answer my earlier questions though.

The engine isn't in question. It's a Vortec 5.7.

Old pharts (like me) would still say a 350, worse a "small block Chevy) what tricks GM can pull or now if OEM set up. Never knew of anything but Vortec for these and others same model year, some newer. It's going to matter big time! Tom
