I have a 1996 Sebring Convertible with an intermittent idling problem. It has the 2.5L V6 and 170,000 miles. When I try to start the car sometimes it won't hold idle. Once I get going it's fine, most of the time. Sometimes it will stall when I come to a stop, but not often. When I do park it will be fine, but if I turn it off and try to restart the car it won't hold idle, again only sometimes. Any suggestions?

This could be as simple as a dirty/sticky IAC problem. Has it been long since the injection system was cleaned? This should be done every 30-40K miles. Loren SW Washington

I use PROLONG in the oil and gas on a regular basis. It just started recently.

Haven't heard of that product, before, but no additive takes the place of actual cleaning. I'd be real careful about what you add to your engine and fuel system. Most of the fuels today already have degergents in them, and most additives, IMO, are snake oil. Loren SW Washington
